Responsibilities of a Cyber Security Expert:
As a Cyber Security Expert at Jazz, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and standardising procedures for the administration, backup, disaster recovery, and operation of SOC systems infrastructure. This involves backup management, capacity planning, change management, version/patch management, and life cycle upgrade management.
- Maintaining the technical architecture of systems to ensure all components perform as expected and meet service level objectives for system up time.
- Managing new product release management, policy and integration testing, security testing, and vendor management.
- Developing and deploying content for infrastructure, including dashboards, active channels, reports, rules, filters, trends, and use cases.
- Coordinating and managing event collection, log management, event management, compliance automation, and identity monitoring activities.
- Designing queries, models, and hypotheses to identify anomalies and detect network compromises, intrusions, and malicious activities.
- Focusing on detecting new threats, vulnerabilities, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Conducting incident analysis, coordination, and response, as well as forensic artifact handling and analysis.
- Interfacing with senior management, enabling the incident management team, and communicating with business units to provide status updates and resolve issues.
- Establishing and maintaining a mature incident management program.
Qualifications for a Cyber Security Expert:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- BS/MS in Information Security, Cyber Security, or Information Technology.
- Practical experience in security operations, preferably in a large enterprise, with a preference for experience in the banking or telecommunications sector.
- 4-5 years of experience in security solution planning and operation.
- Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
- The ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Logical and analytical skills to assist in the analysis of cyber security threats.
- In-depth knowledge and operational responsibility for SOC tools.
- Strong logical and analytical skills to define new use cases, statistical correlation rules, and analytical monitoring functions.
- Experience in developing analytical risk models and assumptions.
- Proficiency in analyzing malware and providing indicators for defensive measures.
- Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Expertise in advanced forensic response and reverse engineering skills.
- A keen interest in staying updated with the latest exploitation methods.
